HAND GATHERED FROM THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
I love the STRENGTH and uniqueness of driftwood;
each piece a warrior arriving with its own dents, scratches and imperfections.
After being tossed and tumbled through the sea; taking rest on the coast of Maryland.
Not knowing that a girl, a boy and his dog seek to find them.
Tucked nervously in rocks or lounging confidently on the sand.
Broken parts that once gave us life; breathing in and out through lungs and leaves.
We honor their journey and give them new purpose.
We scrub and soak gently their

All of my signs are burned
freehand
with no stamp, laser or digital engraving.
I embrace the
imperfections
that come with being handmade and I love figuring out how to work with the knots and scratches. Occasionally, I will draw it first or use carbon paper to trace the outline of a logo to ensure correct spacing. Because I can also be a perfectionist.

Mixtapes rewound to learn the lyrics.
Movie lines that now show her age.
She wrote in hidden journals.
She honored these words on her walls and they whispered their messages each day.
She photographed moments of wordless stories.
She took deep breaths in the MOUNTAINS.
She slept in tents.
She sat by the sea.
And she wrote of how they helped her heal.
She wrote of a man who helped her grow.
She surrendered and chose hand to chest pure joy.
And with relentless positivity, perseverance and patience,
she has found a place for them all.
